Dr Amit Vikram Prasad (MBBS, MS) brings 15 years of surgical experience to Aashi Care Hospital’s General Surgery team in Daltonganj. Trained in general and laparoscopic surgery, Dr Amit has extensive experience in both elective and emergency procedures. He prefers minimally invasive (laparoscopic) approaches where clinically appropriate because they generally result in less post-operative pain, smaller scars and quicker return to normal activity.

At Aashi Care Dr Amit leads laparoscopic services in well-equipped operating theatres supported by modern laparoscopy towers and a multidisciplinary peri-operative team including anaesthesia, physiotherapy and critical care. His clinical practice covers laparoscopic cholecystectomy (gallbladder removal), laparoscopic inguinal and incisional hernia repair, laparoscopic appendicectomy and diagnostic laparoscopy. He also manages complex open procedures, bowel surgery and emergency abdominal conditions such as perforation and intestinal obstruction.

Dr Amit is known for clear pre-op counselling — explaining treatment options, likely outcomes and realistic recovery timelines — and for following enhanced recovery principles (ERAS) to reduce hospital stay and improve outcomes. He mentors junior surgeons in laparoscopic techniques and participates in theatre safety & quality improvement programs.
